FINALLY A NEW LO!!!

It feels sooooo good to finally have scrapped something again! I can hardly believe the last time I scrapped I was a single lady. That means the LO I am about to share is the first one I have completed since becoming Mrs. Bishop!! : ]  I know I haven't blogged about the wedding yet, but I couldn't wait to share my newest project with y'all so here it is!

These pictures were taken for me by a good friend on the day I was baptized. I have been looking forward to scrapping them ever since that day and now I finally have. I still have one more LO to do with pics of me actually being baptized in the ocean but I'm still banging out ideas for that one in my brain right now. These are the 'Before & After" shots as I call them, of me with my parents, Paul and our friends in Christ John & Tara who were also baptized that day.

I really wanted this LO to have a simple elegance to it, so I started with a basic kraft cardstock. To go with it I chose a simple polka-dot pattern paper in red from Jenni Bowlin, and incorporated an over sized doilie to add a little feminine flair. I ended up using quite a few things from previous Vintage Chic Cafe Kits I've collected over the past few months and I couldn't be happier with the way this LO turned out!

When last I posted I told you about an altered canvas I was going to make for the wedding. Well, it was definitely a challenge, but I'm so glad I decided to step outside my comfort zone and go for it! Now I have a beautiful work of art signed by all our friends and family to display in my home as a reminder of our special day! So without further delay, here it is...

After I took this picture I realized a butterfly must have fallen off so I'll have to replace that. The only other issue I have is the photo has come off a couple times as well so I think I'm going to have to add some hand stitching to help keep it in place. Let me just say that working with a canvas is sooo much different than working with cardstock and pattern paper...and painting definitely isn't my forte, lol! I had to have help getting the paint right, but it was well worth the effort. Everyone at the ceremony commented on how beautiful it was and what a wonderful job I had done with it. Little did they know... ; ]

Now, I bet some of you are wondering when I'm gonna dish about the wedding day...well, for now all I'm gonna tell you is I'll be getting the pictures back tomorrow! Whoo-Hoo!!!! Can't wait to see how they turned out and be able to share them with the rest of my family and y"all!! So stay tuned cuz the fabulous details of that special day will be coming your way very soon!! Thanks for stopping by! : ]
