Wanted to share a New LO that I just finished up a few minutes ago. The photos are from a couple days after Christmas last year. I was preparing for the "After Christmas Dinner Party" we were having when this impromptu photo-shoot took place.

I was inspired by an old Sketchabilities sketch, (#18), that I'd saved a while back in the hopes of doing when I came across pictures I thought would do it justice. I was also inspired by a couple of different color palettes I came across in The Color Room- #128 and #131!

I'm also thrilled that I was able to use up a ton of product from previous Vintage Chic Cafe Kits that have been lying around in a box, untouched, for over a year now! I finally broke down and decided to go through them the other day so I'd at least know what I had in them when I was looking to pull items for my next LO. I'm getting such a feeling of satisfaction chipping away at my stash with each new page I create and I hope to be able to keep this momentum going as long as I can!

Time for a few close-ups!

One thing I like to do is layer my flowers, which you can see I did here w/some older primas. I also placed a heart sticker on a scrap piece of cardboard and cut it out to make the heart embellie accent. For the title I combined Echo Park's Life is Good Alpha's w/Scenic Route Orange Letter Stickers & I absolutely love them together!! : )

Behind the photo I layered a crumpled coffee filter with a scrap of a doily I had leftover, and Sassafrass's beautiful Mix & Mend doily-looking paper, Fancy Free. I also doodled stitch marks w/my brown Zig writer to add a little more detail.

I decided to add my journaling right to the page since the background had a light grid pattern which helped me to keep my lines straight when writing.

Supplies: PP-DCWV, Jillibean Soup Lentil, MME Lush & Sassafrass Mix & Mend Fancy Free; Basic Grey Hello Lucious Laser-cut Doily paper; Alpha's-Scenic Route Dark Orange & Echo Park Life is Good; Flowers-Prima; Stickers-DMD Industries Red Hearts and MME Tres Jolie Birthday Boy French Borders; Brown Zig Writer; Misc.-cardstock, buttons, brads, doily & coffee filter all from various Vintage Chic Cafe Kits.

I have a very special LO to share with you all this morning. It's one I've been dreaming of scrapping for almost a year now and I am overjoyed to have finally been able to put it together this week!!

These photos were taken of me leading the children's ministry in worship during one of our Christmas services last year. I was excited to have found that someone took these pics and uploaded them to Facebook since I was unable to get my own photos of the event.

I used a kraft cardstock for the background and went with a combination of Cosmo Cricket, (Jolly by Golly & Oh Joy), and Basic Grey, (Figgy Pudding), pattern papers that have been in my scrappy-hoard for a few years. The alpha's are also from my stash-Basic Grey Figgy Mini Monogram stickers & Making Memories Noel Shimmer letter stickers. I also mixed a couple new elements w/the older papers--Basic Grey Aspen Frost Collection stickers and the 'Joy' die-cut. I did my best to try and keep this one simple and not add too many embille's in order to keep the focus on the main subject, my photos.

Thanks for stopping by and please let me know what you think if you have a couple seconds-your comments are always welcome! : )Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09749463455848355261noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5140785547238363140.post-91285882172984780722012-11-10T09:50:00.001-05:002012-11-10T09:50:10.013-05:00Saturday Morning Scraps-Part 2!Here's the other LO I've been working on and just finished up last night. Wanted to share a new project I just finished up...
This is a photo of my husband's mother. His cousin sent it to us a couple years ago and I'm just getting around to scrapping it. It's really the only nice shot of her in the whole bunch so I decided to give it the royal treatment! : )

The inspiration for this LO came from a couple of places. It is based on the November Sketch from OUAS...

...and the color palette I used I found while stalking The Color Room's Facebook page last night, lol. It's from Week 125.

Now for a closer look...

I pieced together the bling flourishes at the top right from what was left of the large Prima one I'd cut up. I added loose gems from Queen & Co. to fill in and complete the swirl accents. I also dug into my flowers and pulled all the coordinating ones I could find for this LO. After I finished the page, my husband said that the flowers were perfect because they reflected his mom's love for flowers. The mini bingo card is the newest item on this page-it just arrived in a package from scrapbook.com earlier this week! : )

The challenge for OUAS requires that we have some journaling on our LO
somewhere, so I used a small envelope to tuck my thoughts into and hid
it behind the photo.

I used a combination of Basic Grey and My Mind's Eye pattern papers as well as Die Cuts With A View cardstock-Immortal Love Stack-on this LO. Everything you see here has been in my scrappy-stash at least 2 years, with the exception of the above mentioned mini-bingo card, & I am super excited about finally using these papers!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a scrap-tas-tic day!! : )Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09749463455848355261noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5140785547238363140.post-55972150943189152492012-11-04T16:17:00.000-05:002012-11-04T16:17:56.289-05:00My Playful Pooch...Now that I've just about wrapped up the gift album I have been working on, I'm excited to get back to scrapping more of my own family's photos. On my latest trip to CVS I printed out 60 shots that I've taken over the last couple years & here's the 1st two I've scrapped from this new batch of photos!!

I took these pics of my overly playful pooch, Fiona, sometime in the days following last Christmas. I know this because the toy she has in her mouth was a Christmas gift from my parents. While playing with her a couple days later, I somehow was able to capture these adorable shots of her. I love them because they truly do show a genuine picture of her playful personality. Being part Mini-Pincher, she is a true toy-lover! I'm thrilled to have finally scrapped these photos and to be adding this page to our family album!
Since these pics were taken around the Holidays I wanted to incorporate Holiday themed papers into this page. I ended up using a combination of scraps and previously unused Basic Grey, Bo Bunny & Cosmo Cricket papers that have been in my stash a couple years now. The dog themed embellies were a recent acquisition from a co-worker who used to scrap.

For the title I went small to try and keep the focus on the photos. I used a mix of My Little Shoebox, Jenni Bowlin & ADORNit! tiny alphas. I knew I wanted to use the little food bowl embellie in my title too, but there was originally wording printed on it. I decided to add Fiona's name to it to cover it up and I LUV the playful touch it added to the title!

Overall I'm happy with the finished product, but mostly I'm happy to finally have some pics of our furriest little family member scrapped! Thanks for stopping by and have a scraptastic weekend!!

This is the original sketch rotated to the left, which is what I did w/it to accommodate the oversized photo I wanted to use. And here is my take on it--as well as the final LO for my baby nephew's gift album! So thrilled to finally be finished w/this project and very satisfied with how it turned out. : )

This is without a doubt the most feminine page of the whole entire album, and probably also my FAV of all the LO's I've made for it. I kept to the same basic color palate as the rest of the album, but decided to give this page a soft and elegant feel to help bring out the timeless quality of the photo.

The title was probably what gave me the most difficulty on this LO, and
in the end I decided to borrow a line from a song by one of my all-time
favorite artists-Karen Carpenter. I think it helps convey the sentiment
that this journey is just beginning, which is just what I wanted the
last page of his 1st Year album to say!

The title and flourish around it are rub-ons. I also added a bit of bling to the rub-on flourish bits to dress it up a little. The flowers I used are a mix of old Prima's that I layered with newer Recollections fabric and crocheted pieces. The acrylic heart embellie was the last one I had left from a package of Heidi Swapp acrylic accents that have been in my stash for the last 5 years! Needless to say I am thrilled to have finally used it on a LO, lol!!!!

The larger burlap flower w/the metal center is Jolee's, and as you can see I used a combination of bling and brads for all the flower centers. The metal keyhole accent, the butterflies, the vintage trims, the rub-on title, & the doily are all from a mix of previous Vintage Chic Cafe Kits.
.

The
stitching is hand doodled across the strips of pattern paper on both
sides of the photos as well as in the top left and bottom right corners
of the background paper. For this LO I mixed papers from various Basic
Grey lines along with My Mind's eye, Die Cuts w/a View and Jenni Bowlin. Thanks so much for stopping by and happy FRIDAY!!
Just wanted to share a bit of scrappy-inspiration with you and invite those who are interested to play along in the challenges I host over @scrapbook.com! As many of you know already, I host a Monthly Sketch Challenge, where I post a new sketch each week, plus a bonus sketch for additional inspiration, for a month full of scrapping pleasure. Here is the Bonus Sketch for this week!

I absolutely LUV Susan Stringfellow's sketches and this one is no exception. I came across her blog about a year ago and it has been quite a source of inspiration for me since then. You can view more of her designs on her blog sketchsavvy.blogspot.com.

I also opened a brand new challenge this month which has helped me take a deeper look at why I scrapbook. Lately, I've been feeling the Lord leading me to document my relationship with Him in my scrapbooks as well as my family's everyday memories/major life events. Since He was the one to use this hobby to reach me 2 1/2 years ago, how appropriate would it be to start an album that's all about my faith as well. So, in an effort to follow my Lord's lead, I thought, why not encourage other women of faith to do the same? That's how the New Scrap Your Faith Challenge was born! In addition to posting daily scripture passages, I'm also posting a few sketches a month on this challenge as well. It is my prayer that this will become not only a place of scrappy-inspiration, but also a place where women of faith can share their hearts and journeys, and support one another as we strive each and every day to follow our Lord and Savior and live for Him. Below is the last sketch of the month for this challenge.

Not that I regularly get to experience it, except by the changing of the merchandise in the local stores, but none the less, I love it!!!
Today I have a LO I've recently completed featuring photos from our anniversary trip last November to the big city of Roanoke, VA--{the hubby's hometown}--where fall was in full swing, check it out!!

Visiting Mill Mountain & seeing the Roanoke Star was easily one of the things I enjoyed the most while we were there. As you can see the weather was beautiful as well, and the trees were all pretty shades of orange, red and green. We're likely to retire here one day, but for now I will have to enjoy reminiscing.
I was inspired to create this LO by a page I came across in my Sept/Oct CK Magazine, (pg. 91 First Day of School by Cora Vincens). This is a little different than my traditional scrappy-style, but I loved her page design so much I had to give it a try. I added a bit more of the inking & misting to my page, in an effort to bring out all the different colors of fall in my photos. I also added a 4th photo underneath the 2 at the bottom right, that I just couldn't stand to leave out. It's the view of the city from the top of the mountain, have a look.

Here you can also see a close-up of the doodled stitching I added around the photos to help 'tie' all the various bits of paper together that I used to frame my photos. In an effort to help keep the focus on the photos, I decided to go w/a minimalistic title that pointed to my subject-hence the use of the acrylic star. It also felt good to use an item from my embellishment hoard that I haven't used on a LO in ages, lol!!
Overall, I couldn't be happier w/how this page turned out and it was a wonderful stroll down memory lane creating it! That's all for today. Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope that you are enjoying the beautiful season of fall wherever you are!! : )
I can hardly believe we're almost to the end of October already.....REALLY!?!?! Until recently I haven't had much time to devote to scrapbooking, and the little bit I have scrapped this year I've been keeping under wraps since it's going to be a gift I give to someone & I don't want them seeing it before it's finished. However I have had a few more spare moments to scrap lately & here's a peek @ some of my latest work.

My Sis-in-law actually mailed me this photo of my adorable little nephew and from the moment I saw it, I couldn't wait to scrap it! The photo was so fabulous I decided to go w/a simple design in order to let it shine. I couldn't be happier with how this page turned out!! I used a combination of three different Basic Grey Lines; Capella, Boxer & Granola-(both pattern paper accent blocks & the rub-on). I scissor distressed the edges of the cardstock, inked the edges of both pattern paper rectangles, and added a simple doodled border around the photo block.

This next LO is a bit more detailed and was a ton of fun creating. It's actually a lift I did for a challenge on scrapbook(.)com. This is one of my FAV photo's of me & Dr. Luke, (as my hubby & I have been referring 2 him since birth). It was taken @ Luke's Great Grandmother's home in Boca Raton, FL a few months after his birth. I dug into my Sassafras Lass & My Mind's Eye stash for this one and can't believe how many coordinating papers I found to match the colors in this photo! I even used a few ancient alphabet stickers from the 1st set of letter stickers I ever bought back in 2001!!

That's all I have to share for now but stay tuned...I just started working on scrapping more of my own photos this week so in another few day's I hope to post my next finished project! Thanks for stopping by and have a Scraptastic Day!!!!

It's been quite a while since my last post and I am pleased to share that I have finally scrapped recently! With the pace of life I've been keeping these past couple years scrappy time has been scarce, so I feel blessed in a way that things have slowed down at work and allowed me to have some additional time off during the past few weeks. I'm actually in the middle of a scrappy project I started a couple months back that I cannot yet share, since it's going to be a gift for someone very dear to me, but I did finally finish a layout I can share w/you all and that's the reason for tonight's post.
This is only the second page I've completed for our wedding album, which will be the next major scrappy project I tackle once the one I'm currently working on is completed, but I am excited to share it because the photo is one of my FAVS that our photographer & friend, Kelly Coulson, got of my step-son at our after ceremony dinner party. Check it out!
When I came across a sketch that a friend of mine posted on scrapbook.com recently this is the photo that came to my mind. I knew it would be a perfect fit! I used Basic Grey's Capella Line of pattern papers, which I purchased almost 2 years ago in anticipation of scrapping my wedding day photos, lol. I wanted to keep the focus on the photo, so I kept embellishments to a minimum by adding a touch of bling rhinestones & pearls, a beautiful flower from Prima's Autumn Harvest Ginger assortment & a black metal key. The gold ribbon I saved from a package/gift & I'm glad I did cause I love how it looks on this page!
Well, back to work on the gift album for now, but hope to be able to post more LO's soon for your viewing and commenting pleasure. : )

I have missed you all and scrapping so much & I am soooo far behind on it this year, but I really cannot complain. My life has changed so much over the last year and a half and I wouldn't have it any other way. That is actually why I am writing a blog entry on here tonight.

Those of you who know me know that a little over a year and a half ago, I became a Christ follower. Well, in this short amount of time the Lord has truly done some amazing things in my life. I had been wrestling with whether to keep a journal or blog, to document my experiences and finally decided on a blog. This way I can share how He has changed my life & used me to impact the lives of others and present it to others on this great resource we call the world-wide web. Not only do I wish to keep a record of the impact His influence has had on my life, but I look forward to interacting with others & maybe even inspiring some to share their own stories. Other than living my life for Him as He would have me live it, which only impacts those I come in physical contact with or who I see on a regular basis, I believe this is the best way that I can do my part to be the witness for Christ that I feel He is calling me to be.

So, if you're still reading I invite you to check out my New blog: The Way, The TRUTH & My Life and join me as I document my journey following Christ & living for Him. Would love to get some feedback and feel free to share your own experiences if you'd like as well.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas & a blessed New Year!!
It has been sooo long since I blogged, but I recently unpacked the majority of my scrappy supplies & set up my New Scrappin' Spot in our apartment! I'm so excited to finally be able to scrap again!!!! Yaaay!! : ]

I also finished 2 LO's & decided it was time to blog about them. Life has been crazy-busy for me this year & blogging has kinda fallen out of focus but starting now I'm going to make an effort to post whenever I scrap something new. So without further delay, here's the goods.
Both of these LO's are for my friend Carlos's Album which I am thrilled to announce is now complete! Whoo-hoo!! I had been working on it for some time & I'm glad to have finally gotten around to completing it. He's gonna love it & I can't wait to ship it off to him! His mom is gonna be sooo surprised, I can't wait for her to see it!
The first LO below was made w/pics taken @ the Coca Cola Factory in Atlanta, GA. I guess he was there sometime during his training because I believe these are both fellow Army buddies in the pics w/him. I decided to go w/a selection of Jenni Bowlin papers along w/the vintage star pp from Rusty Pickle in order to convey the All-American feel & look I wanted for this page. I actually ordered a new Cricut cartridge just so I could make a homemade soda bottle embellishment to go on this page & I LUV how it turned out!! : ]
The next LO was made w/random shots of him I really didn't know what to do with, but that I wanted to include in his book. I used a mix of 2 different Basic Grey lines & a touch of Jenni Bowlin (the navy polka-dot strip down the center). I even was able to use up some old alpha's & metal washers that I've had in my stash for years! I doodled dots around all the circles & inked the edges of the pics to grunge them up a bit. I also scissor distressed the edges of the background paper, the polka-dot strip & the small circles I cut out. It took me a couple days to figure out a title, but finally decided to go w/this one after some divine inspiration. Figured it was fitting since my friend is a solider. TFL & have a Happy Scrappy Day! : ]Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09749463455848355261noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5140785547238363140.post-55838029638036501422011-02-28T13:27:00.000-05:002011-02-28T13:27:07.922-05:00Happy Scrappy MONDAY!So, I finished another double page LO for my friend Carlos' Album that I started working on last year. That means I only have 1 more LO to go to complete his book, whoo-hoo!! I'm so happy to have almost completed this project for him and extremely excited for his family to see it! I don't even know if they know I'm making it for him. He asked me before he left for Afghanistan last year if I could "do something" with his photos after seeing some pics of my LO's that I had posted on facebook. Naturally I agreed and he brought over a huge stack of pics! We went through them together and he gave me a few details which I jotted down on the back of some of the pics I was planning to scrap for him. We have been writing back and forth keeping in touch on facebook during his tour and I am anxiously awaiting his return home and his reaction to seeing what I have created w/his photos.

Here is the LO I finished this week.

I had been putting off scrapping these photos and almost didn't because I couldn't figure out a photo placement I was happy with. That is until I went back through my JAN issue of Creating Keepsakes Magazine! All of a sudden there it was staring me in the face, the inspiration I had been looking for! (Totally Tubular LO by Erika Stanton Page 25).

I went with a kraft cardstock background to try and keep the LO as cohesive w/the rest of the album as I possibly could. I pulled various items from my collection of Vintage Chic Cafe kits I've collected over the months and was even able to use some pp that has been in my stash for the last 4-5 years!! As soon as I saw the snow flurries falling in the close-up shot I knew I wanted to create a similar look on the LO. To create that effect I used a pack of dimensional snowflake stickers that have been in my stash a little over a year. It feels great to have finally scrapped these pics and utilize a few older stash items in the process.

Thanks for stopping by & have a SCRAP-TASTIC day!! : ]Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09749463455848355261noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5140785547238363140.post-34100731177368760712011-02-11T15:07:00.003-05:002011-02-12T17:26:34.231-05:00My 1st EVER Sketchy Thursday LO...Hello everyone! It's been a few weeks since my last post, but I wanted to take a moment & share my latest creation. I was inspired to make this page by the March Guest Design Team Member Challenge over on the Sketchy Thursday Blog. It was such a fabulous sketch I just had to do it! Here's the AWEsome sketch we had to work with...

In addition to using the sketch, we were also to use the following on our LO's:

♥ Pink & Green or Red & Turquoise
♥ Hearts
♥ A list about something/someone you love

I decided to work with red & turquoise~absolutely luv this color combo!

I had the BEST time creating this page and I'm happy to announce that this is the 1st LO I've created with photos from our wedding! I am THRILLED at how it turned out and so is the hubby! : ]

I used a combination of pattern papers including My Mind's Eye~background, Jenni Bowlin~red floral, October Afternoon~turquoise doilie pp and some Basic Grey scraps I found that I thought went well with all the others. I used 2 small round doilies behind the large photo and was able to incorporate the small inside of the heart doilie I cut up & used on my "So In Love" LO! I added hidden journaling on it and made a little loop from a strip of red polka-dot ribbon to make it easy to pull out and read.

***I took the pic below before I realized I had originally used the wrong word in my title! My sister actually pointed it out to me. It has since been changed on the LO and in the pic above. I just decided to leave this close-up shot up for now since I have to start getting ready for work soon.***

The heart banner was actually easier to make than I thought it would be. I drew different sized hearts on the back of my pp scraps and then folded the paper at the top of the drawn heart. I then cut out the shape minus about an eighth of an inch at the highest parts of the heart so I would have a double sided shape to fold over the twine. I've never tried making a banner before, but definitely plan to use them again now that I know how easy they are to make! : ]

I say for now because we're going to be moving to a NEW apartment in March, so that means I really only have until mid-February to scrap before I'll be busy packing things up and purging the house in order to make moving a little easier. Oh, and the 1st weekend in March I'll be up in Jacksonville @ my SIL's baby shower! I'm sooo excited for her & my lil' bro and totally looking forward to being an Aunt! : ]

After thinking it through I have decided to post a link to my Wedding Photo Album on my Facebook for those of you who would like to have a glimpse into Our Special Day. There were so many special moments captured by our photographer that I'm almost dreading starting work on our wedding album, lol! The sheer thought of tackling it is overwhelming so I'll most likely wait until I'm all set up in my New Scrappy Space in our New Apartment in March.

So for now, here's what I've been keeping busy working on...

These are the pics I told y'all about that were taken of me while I was being baptized last June. I wanted to keep this LO cohesive w/the double page LO I already scrapped of the before & after shots, so I went with a plain Kraft cardstock background. To compliment I found a scrap piece of pattern paper I've probably had for years that had the vintage feel of an old book and an aged pattern that went perfectly with all the elements I wanted to use from my Vintage Chic Cafe kits.

My next creation was inspired by a sketch I found in my latest SBEtc. Magazine. I took this pic on Christmas Day of the whole Family, well, minus my sister who couldn't make it down.

This is also the first time I've tried my hand at paper pleating-the ruffle looking strip of pp below the floral pp block the photo is on. It didn't turn out as great as I would have liked, but the technique is fairly easy. I really like the detail the paper pleating adds to a page so I plan to try again in the future and see if I can improve my skills. ; ]

For those of you who don't know, the hubby & I decided to surprise his son this year and adopted a puppy for Christmas. This is me, Jarett & our furry new addition a few days before Christmas. She is the cutest little thing-a min-pin mix. We named her Fiona after a character in one of our favorite TV shows. She is quickly becoming our spoiled little princess! LOL!!
I had fun mixing Bo-Bunny's Tis the Season line w/Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses on this LO. I was even able to incorporate some lace glitter paper that's been in my stash for more than a year! I luv how it looks over top of the bold Bo-Bunny pp's! The little trees were all hand cut from a piece of pp before being adhered to the page. I also doodled around each of the layers of pp. For the title, I mixed thickers w/rub-on's and some older alpha's from mt stash.

This last LO is the one that took me the longest to put together...and not because there's so much on it either, LOL! But because I hand stitched the cut-out heart shaped lace paper doilie to the page! Needless to say I wont be doing much hand stitching in the future! It took me 2 weeks of working on it to finally complete this page, but I'm thrilled w/how it turned out so i guess it was worth the wait!

I mixed C'oredinations cardstock w/Jenni Bowlin & a couple different papers from the Basic Grey Capella line. I also used a printed transparancy from Making Menories and cut out the heart from an old doilie i've had in my stash since last February. The red bow was made from a silk ribbon I saved from a gift my hubby gave me the day after our wedding. <3
Thanks for stopping by!
I can hardly believe the last time I scrapped I was a single lady. That means the LO I am about to share is the first one I have completed since becoming Mrs. Bishop!! : ] I know I haven't blogged about the wedding yet, but I couldn't wait to share my newest project with y'all so here it is!

These pictures were taken for me by a good friend on the day I was baptized. I have been looking forward to scrapping them ever since that day and now I finally have. I still have one more LO to do with pics of me actually being baptized in the ocean but I'm still banging out ideas for that one in my brain right now. These are the 'Before & After" shots as I call them, of me with my parents, Paul and our friends in Christ John & Tara who were also baptized that day.

I really wanted this LO to have a simple elegance to it, so I started with a basic kraft cardstock. To go with it I chose a simple polka-dot pattern paper in red from Jenni Bowlin, and incorporated an over sized doilie to add a little feminine flair. I ended up using quite a few things from previous Vintage Chic Cafe Kits I've collected over the past few months and I couldn't be happier with the way this LO turned out!

When last I posted I told you about an altered canvas I was going to make for the wedding. Well, it was definitely a challenge, but I'm so glad I decided to step outside my comfort zone and go for it! Now I have a beautiful work of art signed by all our friends and family to display in my home as a reminder of our special day! So without further delay, here it is...

After I took this picture I realized a butterfly must have fallen off so I'll have to replace that. The only other issue I have is the photo has come off a couple times as well so I think I'm going to have to add some hand stitching to help keep it in place. Let me just say that working with a canvas is sooo much different than working with cardstock and pattern paper...and painting definitely isn't my forte, lol! I had to have help getting the paint right, but it was well worth the effort. Everyone at the ceremony commented on how beautiful it was and what a wonderful job I had done with it. Little did they know... ; ]

Now, I bet some of you are wondering when I'm gonna dish about the wedding day...well, for now all I'm gonna tell you is I'll be getting the pictures back tomorrow! Whoo-Hoo!!!! Can't wait to see how they turned out and be able to share them with the rest of my family and y"all!! So stay tuned cuz the fabulous details of that special day will be coming your way very soon!! Thanks for stopping by! : ]

The invitations were a big one and as of tonight they will all have been mailed or handed out, Whoo-hoo!! I chose a simple layout design in our wedding colors and added a symbolic Cross charm to each one with some thin gold trim. I had the wording printed up on vellum by a local scrapbook store, (who I also got the envelopes and reception insert from). I attached it to the base of the invite with plain white photo corners that I've had in my scrappy stash for years. I am thrilled with how they turned out! Here's a peek at what they look like.

I also finished up most of the wedding favors last week. I had decided a while back to use a couple shots from our engagement photo session to make the favors with. After I got the photo cd from Our Photographer, I printed off 2 different poses I liked in black and white and added our names and wedding date to the bottom of each pic. Then I mounted each one on white cardstock, just like the invitations, and added a corresponding quote from the Bible to keep with our ceremony theme. Here's how they turned out.

Next up on my wedding DIY project list is the Autograph Canvas I'm making for our guests to sign and leave us well wishes on in lieu of a traditional wedding guest book. After the big day I plan to display it on a wall in our home. Til next time, thanks for stopping by! : ]
Exactly 2 months til I walk down the isle and become Mrs. Bishop. Lots of emotions come to the surface when I think about that day and what its going to be like. I have most of the MAJOR details hammered out. We have the Ceremony & After Ceremony Celebration site locked down. All the dresses have been ordered. Still gotta help Paul pick out a suit for the big day and working on getting in touch w/a couple of far flung invitees, but all those close to us have been informed and I am working on finalizing the wording for the invitations. Had planned on sending them out the end of this month but its looking like it may not happen til early next month. Going to have our engagement photos taken this coming Tuesday and I'm really looking forward to that! Just have to decide what to wear, lol! Then I'll have a couple do-it-myself projects to keep me busy once I have the pictures printed, lol!

Have to make an appointment next month to start the Pre-Marital Counseling at our church and meet w/the Pastor who will be performing our ceremony so we can discuss what we would like it to include. Gotta go downtown to file for a marriage license and make an appointment w/my seamstress for the final dress fitting. Have to finalize the menu for our "After Ceremony Dinner Party" and decide if I really wanna make all the cupcakes or just get store bought ones. The original plan was to serve different flavors of cupcakes instead of a traditional wedding cake. I may be crafty, but I'm not a big baker.

I'm trying not to stress about all there is to do and enjoy all that I can about the process but some days that's more difficult than others. Oh, well...it will all be over in just under 2 months and then I'll be able to relax, LOL!!!

The journaling is a few lines from one of my FAV Kenny Chesney songs. The title is the song title too. I drew and then cut out the hearts and folded up the edges for a little dimension, then layered them over the photo to the left and the strip of pattern paper.
I used 2 kinds of fabric trim on this LO-a small black pom-pom and an aqua lace to try to bring out more of the blue in the green-blue background paper. The various rub-ons add a bit more romance to the page and I am glad to be using them up! Thanks for stopping by. : ]
This week's twist is NO Pattern Paper! I know what you're thinking...Gasp, that will DEFINITELY be a challenge for me--well it will be for me too! I love pp, but I was feelin' like it was time to get back to basics. Less is more sometimes & I wanted to let that mantra inspire my creative soul this week. So here goes...
Happy Scrappin'!!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09749463455848355261noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5140785547238363140.post-18651567161590482342010-06-30T17:39:00.000-04:002010-06-30T17:39:27.135-04:00Exciting News!!Well a lot has happened in the last 24 hours and I am so excited to share it with all of you! Last night my wonderful man surprised me. He set up an early birthday dinner for me and invited a few of my closest friends and family. It was a very special night & I loved that he put so much time & effort into surprising me that way for my birthday. That however was only the beginning. He ended up proposing to me in front of them all at the end of the night. Of course I said yes! What girl wouldn't when he's gone to that much trouble to make it so special, lol! It was an amazing evening & I even got to see Eclipse at Midnight!

That's all for now. Pics of my gorgeous ring to come soon! : ]Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09749463455848355261noreply@blogger.com2
