Happy Scrappy Wednesday all! Wanted to share a New LO that I just finished up a few minutes ago. The photos are from a couple days after Christmas last year. I was preparing for the "After Christmas Dinner Party" we were having when this impromptu photo-shoot took place.
I was inspired by an old Sketchabilities sketch, (#18), that I'd saved a while back in the hopes of doing when I came across pictures I thought would do it justice. I was also inspired by a couple of different color palettes I came across in The Color Room- #128 and #131!
I'm also thrilled that I was able to use up a ton of product from previous Vintage Chic Cafe Kits that have been lying around in a box, untouched, for over a year now! I finally broke down and decided to go through them the other day so I'd at least know what I had in them when I was looking to pull items for my next LO. I'm getting such a feeling of satisfaction chipping away at my stash with each new page I create and I hope to be able to keep this momentum going as long as I can!
Time for a few close-ups!
One thing I like to do is layer my flowers, which you can see I did here w/some older primas. I also placed a heart sticker on a scrap piece of cardboard and cut it out to make the heart embellie accent. For the title I combined Echo Park's Life is Good Alpha's w/Scenic Route Orange Letter Stickers & I absolutely love them together!! : )
Behind the photo I layered a crumpled coffee filter with a scrap of a doily I had leftover, and Sassafrass's beautiful Mix & Mend doily-looking paper, Fancy Free. I also doodled stitch marks w/my brown Zig writer to add a little more detail.
I decided to add my journaling right to the page since the background had a light grid pattern which helped me to keep my lines straight when writing.
Supplies: PP-DCWV, Jillibean Soup Lentil, MME Lush & Sassafrass Mix & Mend Fancy Free; Basic Grey Hello Lucious Laser-cut Doily paper; Alpha's-Scenic Route Dark Orange & Echo Park Life is Good; Flowers-Prima; Stickers-DMD Industries Red Hearts and MME Tres Jolie Birthday Boy French Borders; Brown Zig Writer; Misc.-cardstock, buttons, brads, doily & coffee filter all from various Vintage Chic Cafe Kits.
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a scraptastic day! : )

Double the Scrappiness!!
Happy Tuesday morning all!! : )
I have a very special LO to share with you all this morning. It's one I've been dreaming of scrapping for almost a year now and I am overjoyed to have finally been able to put it together this week!!
These photos were taken of me leading the children's ministry in worship during one of our Christmas services last year. I was excited to have found that someone took these pics and uploaded them to Facebook since I was unable to get my own photos of the event.
I used a kraft cardstock for the background and went with a combination of Cosmo Cricket, (Jolly by Golly & Oh Joy), and Basic Grey, (Figgy Pudding), pattern papers that have been in my scrappy-hoard for a few years. The alpha's are also from my stash-Basic Grey Figgy Mini Monogram stickers & Making Memories Noel Shimmer letter stickers. I also mixed a couple new elements w/the older papers--Basic Grey Aspen Frost Collection stickers and the 'Joy' die-cut. I did my best to try and keep this one simple and not add too many embille's in order to keep the focus on the main subject, my photos.
Thanks for stopping by and please let me know what you think if you have a couple seconds-your comments are always welcome! : )

Saturday Morning Scraps...
Good morning everyone! Wanted to share a new project I just finished up...
This is a photo of my husband's mother. His cousin sent it to us a couple years ago and I'm just getting around to scrapping it. It's really the only nice shot of her in the whole bunch so I decided to give it the royal treatment! : )
The inspiration for this LO came from a couple of places. It is based on the November Sketch from OUAS...
...and the color palette I used I found while stalking The Color Room's Facebook page last night, lol. It's from Week 125.
Now for a closer look...
I pieced together the bling flourishes at the top right from what was left of the large Prima one I'd cut up. I added loose gems from Queen & Co. to fill in and complete the swirl accents. I also dug into my flowers and pulled all the coordinating ones I could find for this LO. After I finished the page, my husband said that the flowers were perfect because they reflected his mom's love for flowers. The mini bingo card is the newest item on this page-it just arrived in a package from scrapbook.com earlier this week! : )
The challenge for OUAS requires that we have some journaling on our LO
somewhere, so I used a small envelope to tuck my thoughts into and hid
it behind the photo.
I used a combination of Basic Grey and My Mind's Eye pattern papers as well as Die Cuts With A View cardstock-Immortal Love Stack-on this LO. Everything you see here has been in my scrappy-stash at least 2 years, with the exception of the above mentioned mini-bingo card, & I am super excited about finally using these papers!!
Thanks for stopping by and have a scrap-tas-tic day!! : )

My Playful Pooch...
Now that I've just about wrapped up the gift album I have been working on, I'm excited to get back to scrapping more of my own family's photos. On my latest trip to CVS I printed out 60 shots that I've taken over the last couple years & here's the 1st two I've scrapped from this new batch of photos!!
I took these pics of my overly playful pooch, Fiona, sometime in the days following last Christmas. I know this because the toy she has in her mouth was a Christmas gift from my parents. While playing with her a couple days later, I somehow was able to capture these adorable shots of her. I love them because they truly do show a genuine picture of her playful personality. Being part Mini-Pincher, she is a true toy-lover! I'm thrilled to have finally scrapped these photos and to be adding this page to our family album!
Since these pics were taken around the Holidays I wanted to incorporate Holiday themed papers into this page. I ended up using a combination of scraps and previously unused Basic Grey, Bo Bunny & Cosmo Cricket papers that have been in my stash a couple years now. The dog themed embellies were a recent acquisition from a co-worker who used to scrap.
For the title I went small to try and keep the focus on the photos. I used a mix of My Little Shoebox, Jenni Bowlin & ADORNit! tiny alphas. I knew I wanted to use the little food bowl embellie in my title too, but there was originally wording printed on it. I decided to add Fiona's name to it to cover it up and I LUV the playful touch it added to the title!
Overall I'm happy with the finished product, but mostly I'm happy to finally have some pics of our furriest little family member scrapped! Thanks for stopping by and have a scraptastic weekend!!

C'est Magnifique November Sketch Challenge!
The inspiration for this page came from a brand NEW scrappy-friend and
her incredibly beautiful sketch which just so happens to be the sketch
for this month's C'est Magnifique Sketch Challenge!
The sketch...
This is the original sketch rotated to the left, which is what I did w/it to accommodate the oversized photo I wanted to use. And here is my take on it--as well as the final LO for my baby nephew's gift album! So thrilled to finally be finished w/this project and very satisfied with how it turned out. : )
This is without a doubt the most feminine page of the whole entire album, and probably also my FAV of all the LO's I've made for it. I kept to the same basic color palate as the rest of the album, but decided to give this page a soft and elegant feel to help bring out the timeless quality of the photo.
The title was probably what gave me the most difficulty on this LO, and in the end I decided to borrow a line from a song by one of my all-time favorite artists-Karen Carpenter. I think it helps convey the sentiment that this journey is just beginning, which is just what I wanted the last page of his 1st Year album to say!
The title and flourish around it are rub-ons. I also added a bit of bling to the rub-on flourish bits to dress it up a little. The flowers I used are a mix of old Prima's that I layered with newer Recollections fabric and crocheted pieces. The acrylic heart embellie was the last one I had left from a package of Heidi Swapp acrylic accents that have been in my stash for the last 5 years! Needless to say I am thrilled to have finally used it on a LO, lol!!!!
The larger burlap flower w/the metal center is Jolee's, and as you can see I used a combination of bling and brads for all the flower centers. The metal keyhole accent, the butterflies, the vintage trims, the rub-on title, & the doily are all from a mix of previous Vintage Chic Cafe Kits.
.
The stitching is hand doodled across the strips of pattern paper on both sides of the photos as well as in the top left and bottom right corners of the background paper. For this LO I mixed papers from various Basic Grey lines along with My Mind's eye, Die Cuts w/a View and Jenni Bowlin. Thanks so much for stopping by and happy FRIDAY!!
